Shayan is an Iranian-American Writer, Director, and Editor living in Los Angeles.

In 2011, Shayan filmed and edited The Drop Box, which won the Grand Jury prize at SAICFF and was later released theatrically; becoming one of the highest grossing movies in Fathom Events history. He then edited another theatrical feature film called The Dating Project, as well as nationally-broadcast commercials for companies such as Google, iHeart Radio, and Volkswagen. In 2019, Shayan wrote and directed Life Support, his first award-winning short film, followed by a series of viral Persian sketch videos. He has since directed Foreign, which premiered at LA Shorts 2020 and centers around a true immigrant story. Most recently, he wrote and directed Always Azizam, the first Iranian love story with a trans woman as the lead.

Shayan’s focus is on telling authentic stories of people of color, and raising the bar for Iranian representation in Hollywood.
